Bob Goalby Golf Classic

Bob Goalby has lent his name each year to the Maur Hill - Mount Academy charity golf tournament since 1982. The Bob Goalby legacy began in Belleville, Illinois, where the young son of a coal miner would sneak over the fence at the St. Clair Country Club to hit a few balls. He went on to play college football and baseball and served in the U.S. military during the Korean War. Goalby returned home from the war to his first love—golf—eventually winning the Masters in 1968.
