Maur Hill - Mount Academy is a Catholic, college preparatory school educating young men and women in the Benedictine tradition of prayer, work, and love of learning. The learning campus is located in historic Atchison, Kansas, on a beautiful 62-acre campus.

Students of Maur Hill - Mount Academy come from all over the world. The living and learning environment provides each and every student the opportunity to learn about different cultures. The opportunity to make life-time friends from many different countries is available to all who come here.

During the fiscal year, 2007 – 2008, we have had a number of alumni and other benefactors who have generously contributed to funds that have greatly improved our academic programs. We received a gift of $100,000 directed toward technology. A number of improvements were made including the purchase of a mobile lab equipped with 25 laptop computers and twenty new computers that are allowing us to turn our library into a research center. Thanks to this benefactor we now have nine classrooms equipped with electronic white boards to facilitate using technology throughout our instruction.

Mick Hundley, Development Director, then received an anonymous gift of $150,000 directed toward improvements in the area of science. Following that gift, Scott (’88) and Kim Penning gave $100,000 toward the science renovations. Thanks to members of our Board of Directors another $200,000+ has been raised and our science wing renovations have begun. New for the 2008 – 2009 school year will be a state of the art chemistry and physics lab with major improvements being made to our biology lab. We are also adding a general science classroom. All science classrooms are among those equipped with the latest electronic white boards.

Maur Hill - Mount Academy recognizes the importance of math and science, and we are investing our resources into these areas so that students will be appropriately challenged and adequately prepared for the global society in which we live.
